Student parking information
Here is how to buy a parking permit if you have not done so, and how to pick up your permit if you have.
If you have purchased a parking permit, you may pick it up at the Facilities Office in Sorensen Hall.
Or, if you have not purchased a permit and you are on campus, you can buy one at the Facilities Office.
Pickup and purchase
Go to the back entrance of Sorensen Hall (dock area) and buzz in via Police Public Safety. You must be wearing a mask to enter.
Only the person picking up the permit or buying a permit may enter the building. (If you bring friends or family with you, they must wait outside.)
The Facilities Office is the first office on the left side. Go to the window with the big blue A to pick up your permit.
While you are inside the building, please practice social distancing. If you are waiting in line for your permit, stand at least 6 feet behind the person in front of you.
If you are buying a permit, please have all of your vehicle information with you and payment. We will accept cash, check, money orders, Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
Facilities Office hours
Week of Aug. 24: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Move-in weekend: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29; and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30
Week of Aug. 31: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
Buying a permit if you are not on campus
If you have the parking packet you received over the summer you can still fill that out and send it back with payment.
If you do not have a packet, you can print out the vehicle registration and mail it in with payment to:
639 38th St.
Rock Island, Ill., 61201
If you have bought a permit you will receive a receipt in by email. Most receipts have been emailed out except for some requests received late last week; these are being processed now. If you are just now mailing out your parking purchase, please allow 5-7 business days to get your receipt.
All vehicles must be registered with the college. New students will receive a registration form in their parking packets. Vehicles must have permanent plates. The college can only issue a temporary permit until permanent plates are in place.
Students also may register their vehicles in person at the Facilities Office on the ground floor of Sorenson Hall. Bring your student ID card.
Parking lots and permit display
Each parking permit allows you to park in one or several parking lots. Here is a listing of the different parking permits and what lots they allow you to park in.
**Lot P is offline due to the construction of the Peter J. Lindberg M.D. Center for Health & Human Performance**
• B permit lots: B, G
• F permit lots: F, G
• J permit lots: J, G

Display your permit properly (and avoid tickets). Remove any old parking permits. Only your current, valid parking permit sticker should be displayed.
Permits must be displayed at the bottom left-hand side of the rear window. Facilities must be able to read the number of the permit at all times. Instructions for how to display the sticker are on the back of your permit when you pick it up.
Note that the number of your permit is tied to your license-plate number. So you cannot, for instance, loan your permit to a friend for the weekend.
