Student parking information

2022-23 parking permits

Returning students

Parking packets were mailed out in June 6. They take about 3-14 business days for bulk mailings. Receipts will be emailed to your Augustana email once we start receiving your payments in the mail.

If you purchased a permit before leaving campus for the summer, you will not receive a packet in the mail. Look in your email over the summer for parking permit pick-up information.

First-year students

Mid-July parking permit packets will be mailed out USPS. Please do not send them back with the information and payment until you have received your housing assignment.

Parking permits are not mailed. New students pick up their permits during Welcome Week.  At permit pick-up, you also will receive a map showing where you can park on campus.

Pickup and purchase

Go to the back entrance of Sorensen Hall (dock area) and buzz in via Police Public Safety.

The Facilities Office is the first office on the left side. Go to the window with the big blue A to pick up your permit.

If you are buying a permit, have all of your vehicle information with you and payment: cash, check, money orders, Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Credit card payments must be made in person.

Facilities Office hours

Move-in weekend: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday

Week of Sept. 6: Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Remainder of the semester: 9 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays.

Buying a permit if you are not on campus

If you have the parking packet you received over the summer you can still fill that out and send it back with payment.

If you do not have a packet, you can print out the vehicle registration and mail it in with payment to:

Augustana College
Parking
639 38th St.
Rock Island, Ill., 61201

If you have bought a permit you will receive a receipt in by email. Most receipts have been emailed out except for some requests received late last week; these are being processed now. If you are just now mailing out your parking purchase, please allow 5-7 business days to get your receipt.

Vehicle registration

All vehicles must be registered with the college. New students will receive a registration form in their parking packets. Vehicles must have permanent plates. The college can only issue a temporary permit until permanent plates are in place.

Students also may register their vehicles in person at the Facilities Office on the ground floor of Sorenson Hall. Bring your student ID card.

Parking lots and permit display

Each parking permit allows you to park in one or several parking lots.  Here is a listing of the different parking permits and what lots they allow you to park in.

Lot P is closed until Sept. 20 due to the construction of the Peter J. Lindberg, M.D., Center for Health & Human Performance**

• B permit lots: B, G, P

• F permit lots: F, G, P

• J permit lots: J, G, P

• K permit lots: K, G, P

• L permit lots: L, G, P

• M permit lots: M, G, P

• N permit lots: N, G, P

• O permit lots: O, G, P

• S permit lots: S, G, P (S lot is the overflow lot across 30th street from Thorson-Lucken Field)

• Vehicles bearing term or partial-term permits may park at the area designated on the permit or in lot G and P.

Display your permit properly (and avoid tickets). Remove any old parking permits. Only your current, valid parking permit sticker should be displayed.

Permits must be displayed at the bottom left-hand side of the rear window. Facilities must be able to read the number of the permit at all times. Instructions for how to display the sticker are on the back of your permit when you pick it up.

Note that the number of your permit is tied to your license plate number. So you cannot, for instance, loan your permit to a friend for the weekend.
