The Augustana Dining Promise

July 23, 2020

Transcript:

Hello, my name is Fred Kurt, the director of Dining Services here at Augustana College.

Because of COVID-19, I am introducing the Augustana Dining Promise. It's a promise between us, the college and also you as our customers.

Here's what it means:

The college promises to continue to be a leader in safe sanitation practices, provide additional training on cleaning and disinfecting, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette, and follow the state protocols for restaurants, which includes that parties will stay at least six feet apart.

Tables will be limited to six people, additional hand sanitizing stations will be available. Employees will pass a daily health screening before working their shift, clean and disinfect common areas and all surfaces regularly, and disinfect table tops after every use.

In return, Augustana is going to ask this of you:

• Follow the state's protocols for restaurants by wearing masks or other facial coverings in common areas.

• Remove your mask when you are seated and ready to enjoy your meal.

• Do self-screenings, and if you are showing any signs of COVID-19, then you should not be going to any of our dining facilities.

We can't wait to see our students return this fall to serve them once again. Being prepared, proactive, organized and ready to serve is in our DNA of our staff and managers. It's what we enjoy doing every day and have continued to do throughout COVID-19.

For decades, we've been taking care of the Augustana community and we're not stopping anytime soon.
