In Memoriam: Nils Hasselmo

Dr. Nils Hasselmo, a scholar who made significant contributions to Swedish-American studies and former president of University of Minnesota, died on January 23, 2019 at age 87.

Scandinavian Temperance Union (Moline, Ill.) records, 1914-1922

Scandinavian Temperance Union of Moline, Illinois was established in 1898. Collection includes meeting minutes, newspaper clippings, correspondence with members of Congress, and temperance leaflets in Swedish and English from around 1916. 

Emil Anderson papers, 1895-1949

Papers collected by Emil Anderson (1870-1954) of St. Paul, Minnesota. Emil was a musician and violin teacher, working at the W.J. Dyer & Bro. Music Company. He immigrated to the United States from Sweden in 1886. Collection includes letters from relatives in Sweden, death notices, informal pictures from outings at Cape Horn, Lindström, Minnesota, and various receipts.
