Elsie Rebecca Ahlwén Sundeen was an evangelist, musician, and composer. Born in Sweden, she immigrated to America around 1925. She was an active evangelist and traveled widely preaching and singing to various churches and groups. She wrote and recorded her own music, and is credited with “He the Pearly Gates Will Open.”

Augustana senior Alek Jacobs, a quarterback on the Vikings football team, has won a $10,000 postgraduate scholarship from National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Carl Allvar Kullgren (1826-1887) traveled from Sweden to San Francisco to participate in the gold rush from 1850-1855. Collection consists of a copy of an article detailing his experiences in California and a copy of the index to the Kullgren archival records held at Göteborgs landsarkiv.
