Alex J. Erickson (1896-1995), the son of Swedish immigrants, worked in Buxton and Pershing, Iowa coal mines. Collection consists of a typed summary of an interview with him in 1983 and copied information on coal mining in Buxton, Iowa.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE

Administrative/Biographical History:    
Alex J. Erickson was born on 6 March 1896 at Muchakinock, Iowa, the son of Swedish immigrants. Both he and his father worked in Buxton, Iowa mines and mines near Pershing, Iowa. He was interviewed by Mrs. Elaine W. Nelson at Westridge Nursing Home in Knoxville, Iowa on January 13, 1983. He never married and lived all his life with his mother and sister. He died in Knoxville, Iowa on 25 January 1995. 

Scope and Content:    
Collection consists of a typed summary of an interview with Axel Erickson by Mrs. Elaine W. Nelson at Westridge Nursing Home in Knoxville, Iowa on January 13, 1983. Also included is copied information on coal mining in Buxton, Iowa.
