The Stone Lectureship in Judaism was established in 1983 by family and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Alex B. Stone. The purpose of the endowment is to provide a yearly lecture and an expanded program in Judaic studies at Augustana College. The lectures began in 1984.

Theatre to host program for students with disabilities
In March, Augustana's Brunner Theatre Center is set to host "Annie Jr.," an edited performance of the popular musical. The production is a version of the Penguin Project, which connects students age 9-21 with disabilities to mentors, who help prepare for the performance.
'Blacksmith' highlights Lundahl collection presentation Sept. 6
Quad-City Times columnist Alma Gaul spotlights "The Blacksmith," a painting by Swedish immigrant Frank Lundahl that is part of the collection at the Augustana Teaching Museum of Art. Museum director Claire Kovacs will deliver a talk on Lundahl and "The Blacksmith" on Sept. 6.

Journalism student works at Next Generation Radio
Multimedia journalism major Ben Payne '18 spent a week in Minneapolis at the Next Generation Radio project from Oct. 19-24. Payne learned the importance of collaboration in the newsroom and through social media. "I found my people" in public radio, Payne writes in his blog recap.

Wielenga '16 nails professor role in 'Bingo'
Senior Josh Wielenga "brings an honest maturity and decency" to his role as a college professor in a local theatre's production of "Bingo." The comedy is being staged by Richmond Hill players in nearby Geneseo, Ill., and runs through the weekend.
