How to get a campus job

If you are interested in working on campus, there are a few important things to know.

Before starting work on campus, you will need to complete required tax forms and provide identification to be entered in campus payroll.

Domestic students must fill out the federal W-4 and I-9 employment verification forms. If you are a resident of any state other than Iowa, fill out the Illinois W-4. Only Iowa residents will fill out the Iowa W-4.

Students must  show a valid US passport or photo ID, and bring an original Social Security card or original birth certificate. (See Required student employment forms.)

International students should contact the Office of International Student and Scholar Services for more information about joining payroll.

Domestic students are limited to working 10 hours a week on campus, and international students are limited to working 20 hours a week.

All open student employment jobs should be posted to Handshake, and all students have been set up with a Handshake account. Use your Augustana email address. If it is your first time signing in, your password will be the same as your Augustana email password, and you will be prompted to set up a password and to fill out your profile.

To search for on campus jobs, click “Jobs” at the top of the page and then type "Student Employment at Augustana College" in the search bar. You will then see all the jobs that are currently available, and can apply to each job through Handshake.
