Gift of Dr. Dorothy Skårdahl of Oslo, Norway during a visit to Rock Island, Illinois to Lilly Setterdahl in July 1980. Transferred to the Swenson Center in 1982.

CONTENT AND STRUCTURE

Administrative/Biographical History:    
Sophia Pettersson (Christina Sophia Petersdotter) was born in Sweden in 1837. She immigrated in 1867 and settled in Illinois. She married John Ewalt in 1872 and had 7 children. She died in 1917.

John Ewalt was born in Sweden in 1837. He died in 1918. 

Ida Ewalt was born on 12 March 1876 in Illinois. She married Edmund Franklin Hubbell in 1901 in Ohio, Illinois. She died on 24 July 1948.

Collection contains copies of three letters from the Petersson-Ewalt family and a copy of a photograph of John Ewalt.
