National First-Generation College Student Day Nov. 8 celebrates students who will be the first generation in their family to graduate from college.

These papers contain a brief autobiography of Hortense Lindorff, an inventory of objects at the Jenny Lind Chapel (Andover, Illinois), and inventory of archival records at the First Lutheran Church (Rock Island, Illinois). Hortense Lindorff was a Swedish American and Augustana College graduate. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Rock Island, Illinois and served on several boards of Swedish-American organizations, including the Jenny Lind Chapel Committee.

It is recorded by the Rev. Robb McCoy of Two Rivers United Methodist Church, Rock Island, and his buddy from seminary school, the Rev. Eric Fistler, now of Crystal Lake, Ill. Fistler '03 studied classics, philosophy and religion at Augustana.
