Mock Presidential Debate
Omidullah Barikzay, a senior in computer science and accounting, and Bradley Moyer, a junior in political science, will play the role of the presidential candidates.
They will demonstrate what a presidential debate would look like when civil discourse is practiced. Audience interaction is encouraged.
Mary Windeknecht will serve as the moderator. The debate is part of the Learning Commons Civil Discourse Series.
Maintaining Relationships Through Civil Discourse
The Learning Commons will continue its Civil Discourse Series with "Maintaining Relationships Through Civil Discourse" with Yen Dao and Mary Windeknecht.
Disagreements and conflicts come up often in personal and professional relationships. Yen Dao and Mary Windeknecht will discuss the importance of being civil in maintaining personal and professional relationships, provide effective strategies to remain civil when having difficult conversations with people who disagree with you, and invite the audience to practice civil discourse. This event is also considered a well-being lab.
Calligraphy workshop
The Office of Student Life will host a calligraphy workshop with Natalie Pariano, founder of NatterDoodle.

All you need is a pencil, markers, paper, and access to a printer.
After the workshop, post your creations on social media for the chance to win prizes such as calligraphy pens, some of Natalie's art work, and a gift card.
Virtual Bingo
Students are invited to attend a virtual session of Bingo for a chance to win $500. Those interested should register by Thursday, April 16.
Well-being lab: "Staying Organized, Improving and Sustaining Motivation, and Minimizing Procrastination"
The Learning Commons will offer virtual well-being labs on Tuesdays and Thursdays in April from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Relay for Life
Augustana will be hosting their annual Relay For Life virtually.
Relay For Life is a community-based fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. Each year, more than 5,000 Relay For Life events take place in over twenty countries.
Live streaming connects Augustana community
Augustana’s Tribe of Vikings purchased new equipment this year for live streaming athletic events. In the absence of spring athletics, the equipment now is being used to keep the Augustana community connected.
Graduation: virtual May 23, in person Oct. 11
Although the coronavirus pandemic delayed its traditional ceremony, Augustana College will celebrate its Class of 2020 virtually in May and in person in October.
