All-faculty retreat
The annual faculty retreat today will be held virtually through Google Meets. See schedule.
A fuller program for the retreat (complete with presenter names, session descriptions, and Google Meet links) will be distributed Aug. 21.
Start-of-the-year meetings for chairs and FYI faculty will be held on Aug. 26, also through Google Meets.
All-campus retreat
The annual All-Campus Retreat will take place in a virtual format.There will be two general sessions in the morning as well as a variety of sessions in the afternoon.
Faculty and staff will receive an email with login instructions for all of the sessions via Zoom.
Open registration begins Aug. 17
Here is some information that should help answer your questions during open registration next week, Aug. 17.
Residential Life open house
New students can meet their community advisors at the virtual Residential Life open house.
If you did not receive an invitation by email, you can still sign up.
Virtual information session
Students and families are invited to take part in a virtual information session.
College leaders, including the dean of students and the provost, will give updates on plans for reducing the risks related to COVID-19 on the Augustana campus.
The session is scheduled to last an hour, and the presenters will answer questions from students and their families.
Opening Convocation
Due to the size restrictions for groups, Opening Convocation will not occur this fall in its traditional format in person.
An Opening Convocation talk intended for parents and students will begin at 7 p.m. Aug. 24. This informational event will feature speakers from the Augustana community.
Families will receive a link to join in the virtual event.
Faculty recital
Janet Stodd, flute; Susan Bawden, bassoon; and Sheila Doak, piano will perform in a virtual faculty recital.
'For Peter Pan on Her 70th Birthday' virtual reading Aug. 21
The Mississippi Bend Players will present a virtual reading of Sarah Ruhl's play, "For Peter Pan on Her 70th Birthday" at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
Digital Dialogues on Indigenous topics
The first in a new series of presentations and discussions on Indigenous topics — Digital Dialogues — starts at 7 tonight on Google Meet.
Tonight's presentation will be an introduction to the term BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color), the history of the term, how Indigenous groups are involved in the BLM movement, and how you can be an ally to the community.
