Augustana Oratorio Society to perform Handel's 'Messiah'
George Frideric Handel’s “Messiah” will be performed by the Augustana Oratorio Society, conducted by Dr. Jon Hurty. Soloists are Michelle Areyzaga, soprano; Dashon Burton, bass baritone; Steven Soph, tenor; and Jessye Wright, mezzo soprano. A professional orchestra will accompany the performance.

Student holiday party
Students remaining on campus over the break can enjoy crafts, games, puzzles and a cozy hangout in the Andreen common area starting around 10 a.m. Lunch and Christmas goodies will be served around noon.
2025 in review
In 2025, Augustana received national recognition for innovation and affordability; expanded opportunities for students in business, health care and STEM; strengthened community connections in support of the Bold & Boundless strategic plan; and provided students with access to hands-on research and educational experiences abroad.
What I wish someone had told me before my first Midwest winter
Before moving to the Midwest, “winter” was no more than a word for light cold breezes and hoodies, a season I imagined as a minor inconvenience and an opportunity to buy new and trendy clothes. But the Midwest has its own version of winter, one that is beautiful and brutal all at once, and if you’re lucky enough, you might even incur the wrath of its mood changes.
