Flexible spending accounts
Augustana College offers medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts (FSA). This benefit is administered by Tristar. FSAs allow employees to set aside pre-tax earnings to be used for eligible medical or dependent care expenses. These amounts are deducted from your pay and deposited into one or both of the reimbursement accounts.
Employees do not have to be enrolled in the Augustana Health Care plan in order to participate in the flexible benefits plan.
Eligibility: New employees are eligible the first of the month following the date of hire. The minimum amount of election is $100 and the maximum follows IRS maximum allowable rates.
Employees may change the annual election amount only during open enrollment (generally August of each year). In addition, employees may enroll or change their election after experiencing one of the following qualifying events: marriage, divorce, birth, adoption, death, or loss of coverage elsewhere.
