Accident, Critical Illness and Universal Life Insurance
These voluntary benefits are administered by Trustmark Voluntary Benefit Solutions. Open enrollment for these three voluntary benefits is only at the time of hire and at special enrollment periods to be determined. During your benefits meeting, an HR representative will provide you with brochures, sample rates and briefly describe the three voluntary benefits. These voluntary benefits are employee paid via payroll deduction, there is no employer contribution toward the premium.
Augustana is not able to enroll you in these benefits; you must enroll through a licensed benefits counselor. To schedule an appointment with a benefits counselor you can visit this website or call 866-998-2915. These appointments will only be held on the first and third Tuesday of every month. You have 60 days from the time of hire to enroll in any of these three products.
This product is for employees who would like insurance designed to cover unexpected expenses that result from all kinds of accidents, even sports-related and household ones, for themselves or their family members. Accident Insurance provides cash benefits to cover things your health insurance doesn't such as deductibles, co-payments, transportation and lodging costs, everyday bills and more. A schedule of benefits is available from the Human Resources Department. Accident Insurance is portable, take your coverage with you and pay the same premium even if you change jobs or retire.
Critical Illness and Critical LifeEvents Insurance
This product is for employees who would like insurance that focuses on medical conditions that are most likely to occur for themselves or their family members (example: cancer, coronary artery disease, stroke, permanent blindness, organ failure, etc.). This coverage helps you and your family when illness strikes. Additional riders are available to add to the basic Critical Illness benefit; Healthy Living Benefit Rider and Specified Illness Rider. Rates are based on multiple factors such as age, smoking status and benefits selected. Universal Life and Universal LifeEvents Insurance
This product is for employees who are interested in a permanent life insurance that helps shield your family from financial hardship.
