March 13: Residential Life information

Spring break will begin today, Friday, March 13, at 4 p.m. The college is asking all students who can to travel home for this two-week period. Students are asked to move out of the residence halls and TLAs after classes by Saturday, March 14, if possible. If you can travel home, please do.

If you are unable to travel you can request to stay on campus. Those needing to stay on campus after Monday, March 16, should fill out the form available online at housing.augustana.edu. This form is for students who need to remain on campus March 16-29. Campus food service will be offered March 13-20.

While we are hoping to see you back on Sunday, March 29, please be ready for the possibility that you may be away from campus for longer than that. You do not need to take all of your belongings home with you over break.

Important things to consider

Take anything you need for classwork, including books, notebooks, lab manuals, musical instruments, and computers.

Take valuables, medications, and any other supplies you might need.

Guests and visitors will not be allowed in the residence halls and TLAs during spring break. Residence hall desks will not be open during spring break. If you need assistance, please call the Office of Residential Life at 309-794-2686 (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday) or the Office of Police and Public Safety at 309-794-7711 (evenings and weekends).

Make sure you prepare your room to be vacant over a break by:

-- Shutting windows
-- Turning off Lights
-- Removing perishable food
-- Unplugging electric appliances other than fridges
--Taking out the trash
--Locking your door as you leave

If your plans change, please contact the Office of Residential Life at 309-794-2686 or email us at residentiallife@augustana.edu.

Thank you,
