Why Augustana?

I chose Augustana because it gave me a place to pursue my dream of studying in the United States and playing tennis.

Are you where you thought you'd be when you first came to campus?

Not really. I would say that I've changed. I've become a leader, someone who is comfortable speaking in public, and I've acquired new skills that I would've never thought of.

Who helped you get to where you are now?

The people I'm surrounded by — my family and best friends, professors and advisors.

Peak experience?

It's tough to choose, but I would say traveling with the tennis team and having a good time with my team.

What surprised you?

What surprised me the most was the number of people I got to meet from all around the world. Getting to know their culture and perspectives has been amazing.

How did you use your Augie Choice?

I used it with my Internship at WHBF-TV.

What will you miss the most?

The friendships I've created in my time here.

Advice for the Class of 2029?

Live in the moment, get to experience what Augie has to offer, and do not waste time doubting if you should or should not do things.

"Gabo has been an incredible leader on campus at Augustana. His positivity and humility have created quality relationships across campus. Through these relationships, he has been able to push himself and his teammates to new heights on the tennis team, and I know he has done the same in his academic programs. I know Gabo will represent Augustana College well after graduation."
