Why did you choose to attend Augustana?

My twin sister received information about Augustana in the mail. I was also looking at colleges, and we both decided to visit the campus. We both loved the school and applied shortly after.

Are you where you thought you'd be four years ago?

I came to Augustana undecided and did not declare a major until the end of my sophomore year. Four years ago, I could not have imagined all of the things that I have accomplished.

Who helped you get to where you are now?

Dr. Delaney has been a great professor and advisor for me. He has been my go-to man for everything from coursework to internships to graduate school. He has always been willing to answer my questions and has always provided me with solid advice.

A peak experience?

My peak experience was traveling to Russia for a business class after junior year. This was truly one of the best decisions I have ever made. Going abroad provides you with an invaluable experience that you will remember for the rest of your life.

What did you learn about yourself in these past four years that surprised you?

In the past four years, I have discovered who I am personally and professionally. I discovered leadership skills through my fraternity, work ethic through my courses, and the value of volunteer work through Habitat for Humanity. Most importantly, I discovered that I am capable of achieving much more than I could have ever imagined four years ago.

How did you use your Augie Choice?

I used Augie Choice for my study abroad experience in Russia. Augie Choice helped out tremendously in paying for the trip.

What will you miss the most?

I am going to miss all of the friends that I have made over the past four years and, of course, Whitey's ice cream.

Advice for the Class of 2019?

I would encourage any student to study abroad. It will undoubtedly be an experience that you will not soon forget.

"Kody has earned success as an accounting major through hard work. That same work ethic during an internship with Deloitte (largest CPA firm in the world) garnered him a full-time offer once he completes graduate school at Wake Forest University. Kody never shies away from a challenge, and he rises to the occasion. I have enjoyed working with him and look forward to seeing him succeed at Wake Forest and beyond."
