Are you where you thought you'd be four years ago?

Four years ago, I didn't know what I wanted to do with my life, and I didn't feel as though I knew as much about myself as I do now. Today I can say that I know I'm very proud of what I've accomplished at Augustana, and it is because of Augustana that I've been able to do everything that I wanted.

A peak experience?

Becoming part of a Greek organization. I’ve learned so much about myself throughout this process and being able to have such a close group of girls who support me in everything that I do has really changed my experience at Augustana for the better. Being in a Greek group created opportunities for me that I might not have had.

Who helped you get to where you are now?

If it weren’t for my parents, I would not be where I am now. They have supported me in everything that I’ve done and the decisions that I’ve made. My brother and sister also have been there to support me, especially with Ethan (my brother) being here at Augustana with me. The friends that I made at Augustana also have made a world of difference in my life, and I wouldn't be the better person that I am if it weren’t for them.

What would you like to add that we didn’t ask about?

Throughout my time at Augustana, I have learned to reflect on my life and to appreciate the good and bad things. Every battle that I’ve been given has only made me stronger and helped me grow into the person that I am today.

Advice for this fall’s incoming Class of 2016?

Do everything that you want to do in college and follow your instincts in all decisions that you make. Your time as a college student will be some of the best years of your life.

“Morgan Gale has grown as both an athlete and as a team leader. This season she was elected by her teammates to be their captain. The combination of four years of hard work, the role of team leadership and the realization that this is her final season has helped Morgan compete at a much high level. This past indoor track and field season, she earned All-Conference for the first time in her career at Augustana. She has continued this hot streak into the outdoor season with personal records in all of her events!”
