Director, Reading/Writing Center; Associate Professor of English

Lucas A. Street joined the Augustana community in 2011. He directs the Reading/Writing Center in the Learning Commons. Located in Gerber 423, the Reading/Writing Center (RWC) and its 24 peer tutors provide reading and writing assistance for all Augustana students.

Lucas's writing center experience began at Knox College, where he worked as a writing tutor for two years. He is also a published poet, his work most recently appearing in Locuspoint and Fifth Wednesday Journal.

As a faculty member in the English department, Lucas teaches First-Year Inquiry, English 327 & 328, and provides one-on-one instruction for up to 20 students per week in individual half-hour appointments.

He lives in Rock Island with his wife and four sons.
