Fatima Sattar

Assistant Professor of Sociology, Anthropology and Social Welfare

Dr. Fatima Sattar has a Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology from Boston College and an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. in sociology/ psychology from Aurora University.

Her research focuses on inequality, social welfare/policy, immigration, refugees, and race/ethnicity, class and gender. She has examined front-line policy challenges in the U.S. refugee resettlement program and Iraqi and Darfurian refugees' incorporation experiences.

Before coming to Augustana, Dr. Sattar taught undergraduate sociology courses at Boston College, Laboure College, and Aurora University.
