Planetarium and geology museum to host April 25 open house

Augustana College's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, April 25, for an evening of gazing and space shows. The event will take place from 8:30-10 p.m., with indoor and outdoor programs in the planetarium, observatory and geology museum.

Augustana presents holiday planetarium show Dec. 6-12

The college's annual holiday planetarium show, "Season of Light," uses images, video, animation and sound to tell the story of how holiday traditions are connected to the sky above. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

Planetarium and geology museum to host Nov. 1 open house

Augustana's John Deere Planetarium and Fryxell Geology Museum will be open to the public on Saturday, Nov. 1, for the annual Fall Open House. The planetarium and geology museum will be open 7-8:30 p.m., with indoor and outdoor programs. There is no charge for admission.

Guest speaker: Dr. Jennifer Lee, 'Optical Cavities for Gravity Sensing'

The 2026 Harry Nelson Lecture in Astronomy will be given by Dr. Jennifer Lee of BAE Systems SMS. The talk, "Optical Cavities for Gravity Sensing," will be held on Friday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Hanson Hall of Science Room 102. Admission is free and the talk is open to the public.
