Registration is still open for drum set lessons

Students who have an interest in learning to play drum set may register for lessons for the spring semester, especially those who plan to participate in any of Augustana's jazz ensembles.

Applied music lesson credits do not cause students to have a credit overload. However, there is an additional tuition charge.

Thirteen individual lessons are offered to students (regardless of their major course of study) during the fall and spring semesters every school year. Lessons are offered to students of all skill levels. The course qualifies for 1 credit hour, and students receive one half hour lesson each week. The drum set lesson studio is in the Music Rehearsal Annex at 3816 6th Ave.  Due to the scheduled use of the annex by other music staff members, drum set lessons are offered only on Wednesday afternoons.

Students who register for lessons are given the opportunity to use a school-owned drum set that is kept in the annex for their individual practice and at their lessons.

The course titles are listed as MULS 100-400-SET, and registration is done through Arches. Students are expected to provide their own drum sticks at lessons and for their practices. If you need to purchase equipment or method books there are a couple of local music shops to assist you.

Once you’re registered, email Gary Ciccotelli, drum set instructor, and he will work with you to schedule your weekly lesson.
