Phi Beta Kappa recognizes and honors exceptional academic achievement in the arts and sciences. Only about 10% of colleges and universities nationwide have a Phi Beta Kappa chapter, and, at Augustana, only 7-10% of students from each graduating class are invited to join.
The Zeta of Illinois Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at Augustana was established on March 17, 1950.
