Robert Elfline, piano: Preludes and Reflections

Robert Elfine, associate professor of music, will perform the second volume of Claude Debussy's Préludes for piano.

2018 marks the centenary of the death of Claude Debussy.This evocative and enigmatic collection contains some of the composer’s most imaginative (and challenging) portraits for solo piano.

Interspersed throughout the program will be 11 of Howard Skempton’s Reflections, which will serve as both contrast and commentary on Debussy’s preludes.
