National Association for Music Educators (NAfME)

The purpose of NAfME is to provide support for all aspects and levels of music and music education.  It provides resources for teachers and parents, hosts professional development events and conferences, and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers. NAfME works to ensure that every student has access to a comprehensive music program taught by competent, well qualified educators.

Membership in Augustana College’s NAfME Collegiate chapter offers students opportunities to:

• Gain insight into the professional world of music education
• Expand a network of professional contacts
• Job opportunities
• Discover new teaching methods and techniques; and
• Develop leadership skills
