Student Life Programming Board Committees

Student Life Programming Board is a programming board consisting of executive board members and sub-committees of students. These committees are responsible for the majority of entertainment programming on campus. The committees are as follows:

Comedy Club

This committee is responsible for hosting national touring comedians who cater to a variety of perspectives, in addition to stimulating student interaction and involvement across campus.

Responsibilities for committee members of the Comedy Club include: researching acts on the college circuit through nationally based talent agencies, planning and executing the event and evaluating each show providing detailed information regarding budget management, media support, and campus venue management. 

Live On Campus

Live On Campus features local talent, both Augustana students and Quad City area performers. Help in the Brew located in the fourth floor of the Gerber Center.

Responsibilities for committee members of Live On Campus include: identifying potential student acts, selecting national touring coffeehouse performers, planning, marketing and executing programs.

Special Events

Bringing a wide range of entertainment acts to campus is the role of the Special Events committee. Ranging from illusionists to game shows and musical acts, these events are free of charge to Augie students. Special Events also oversees the Bingo event, which is held on the first Friday of the month.

Movies

Each week, the Movies committee shows a recently released film on campus. These movies are theater quality and are free to the Augustana College community. Multiple showings are held each week in the Olin Auditorium.

Responsibilities for Movie committee members include: researching available films through nationally based film agencies, evaluating each screening, providing detailed information regarding audience size, promotional strategies, and venue management.

Concerts

The Concerts committee is dedicated to bringing a concert experience to Augustana through throwing events such as SloughFest and a fall show.

Late Night

Late Night committee, as the name suggests, throws a variety of late night events that are focused on providing unique and exciting events to the Augustana campus. These events in the past have included things such as foam party and bubble soccer.

Excursions

The Excursions committee is committed to providing events that take place off of campus to fun events that allow them to momentarily break from the Augie bubble to see exciting events such as a Cubs or Blackhawks game.

Games

The games committee brings exciting game shows to the Augustana community such as Bingo and Trivia Nights to bring the campus together for exciting nights full of fun and prizes.

Responsibilities for Games committee members include: event planning, promotion and set-up as well as evaluating each program.

Assessment

This committee is focused on providing data analysis and utilizing technology to support other committees in finding ways to improve events.
