Campus update for Sept. 14, 2020

Sept. 14, 2020

Good job! Keep it up

covid info

That was the message from President Steve Bahls and Dr. Wes Brooks, dean of students, this morning as they explained the latest updates to our COVID guidelines.

In a nutshell, our efforts to limit the spread of the disease — staying on campus, masking and social distancing — appear to be working.

However, you are asked to limit your trips off-campus until Sept. 28.

Limits on the size of social gatherings, number of visitors in residence halls, and other guidelines remain in place. (See a list of things you should not do, and many things you CAN do.)

→ The college's COVID-19 dashboard is updated every Monday.

→ You can volunteer to be tested weekly for a month. It is a non-invasive saliva test.

What is truth? We're about to find out

Members of the campus community are invited to submit proposals for Symposium Day presentations on this year's question: What is truth?

Once in the fall and once in spring, the college devotes a day to alternative learning. Symposium Days include invited speakers, faculty, students and alumni. It is an opportunity for you to practice the liberal arts and get involved with the community.

The Fall 2020 Symposium Day (virtual) will be on Saturday, Oct. 17. You have until 5 p.m. this Friday to send in your idea.
