March13: Announcements from campus offices

March 14: Office of Student Life

The college is taking thoughtful and deliberate steps to assist and support state and national public health departments to reduce the incidents and impact of COVID-19.  As a result, spring break has been extended for two weeks with classes ending today and resuming on Monday, March 30.

In light of Augustana closing, all fraternity and sorority activities are suspended until further notice, including new member programming. Presumably, this suspension will be lifted including new member programming once classes resume on-campus.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to Tia Fuhr, Coordinator of Greek Life or myself if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Ken Brill
Associate Dean and Vice President

March 13: Campus Recreation

Augie Community:

The Campus Rec Department, alongside Student Services, recognizes the need to maintain the operation of the Pepsico Recreation Center (and Westerlin Activity Center aka The "WAC") during these trying times.

Our goal is to continue to offer a recreational outlet for students, faculty and staff. The plan is to keep Pepsico and the WAC open with the following hours listed below.

Please note that all Intramural and Group Fitness Classes have been suspended until further notice. We will update once we know the status of our academic schedule.

Respectfully,

Don Umland
Director of Campus Recreation

Pepsico (WAC) hours of operation March 14-29

9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday
9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday
11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday

March 14: Campus Ministries

Just to remind you that we do not hold services on campus during official Augustana breaks, which means that there will be no worship in Ascension Chapel now through Sunday, March 29.

The chapel remains open for individual prayer during days and times that Founders Hall is open. We will be working on possibilities for us to be present to one another virtually while we cannot be together in person.

O God, you have called your servants to ventures
of which we cannot see the ending,
    by paths yet untrodden,
    through perils unknown.
Give us faith to go out with good courage,
    not knowing where we go,
but only that your hand is leading us
    and your love supporting us
through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.
