Campus update for Nov. 25, 2020

Nov. 25, 2020

Vikings Took Care — how they did it

As classes wrap up today, it's a time to look back at how we learned to live with COVID-19 on campus this fall. The past 100 days here were made possible by planning, teamwork and the care you all showed for each other.

"If we could all be together, I’d be the first to give our students and all members of our Augustana community a well-deserved standing ovation. Everyone has earned that. Thank you!" said Dean of Students Dr. Brooks.

Christmas at Augustana becomes an Advent 📅

Christmas at Augustana has been converted into a virtual Advent calendar, where the you can open a new performance every day starting Dec. 1. Stay tuned!

Today's updates:

• Maya Johnson tested negative before leaving campus, but she's still keeping her family safe in Chicago. No surprise that she plans to major in public health. (Story from CBS2.)

• Here is a list of hours for campus buildings and operations through year's end.

• The Augustana Bookstore will offer a gift card bonus Dec. 9-10: Spend $100 and get a $20 gift card. Spent $200 and get a $50 gift card. Orders must be received by Dec. 15 for Christmas delivery.

• You can have a virtual international internship for spring! Tackle urban gardening and food self-sufficiency in Ecuador, or environmental education for urban communities in Argentina. Students of any major can register the internship for 0-1 credits.

• Camp Kesem invites you to send a "Warm and Fuzzy" to encourage someone during finals week.

👍 Dr. Khalil Andani is the winner of the Best Ph.D. Dissertation of the Year from the Foundation for Iranian Studies. His dissertation is entitled "Revelation in Islam: Qur’ānic, Sunni, and Shiʿi Ismaili Perspectives." Dr. Andani is an assistant professor of religion.

Campus Rec not going on break!
