Campus update for May 22, 2020

May 22, 2020

Dear students,

Wishing you a happy and productive summer on this last day of the academic year.

You will continue to get Campus Updates over the summer — although not as frequently. We will be in touch with new information about fall classes and other news as soon as it is available.

Seniors, after tomorrow you will be alumni! You won't be getting these amazing emails any longer but you can look forward to the alumni newsletter every month.

The video below is a little something for you to watch when you need to relax. Be sure to turn on the sound.

Today's updates:

• In case you want to share, we've posted the honors and awards you have won over the past year:

Senior Honors

Honors Recognition Awards

Departmental honors, scholarships and awards

• Seniors, one more reminder about caps and gowns, etc.

CARES Act grants are being mailed

If you are eligible for a grant, you should have received an email notice this morning. We expect to mail checks on or before May 30.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act created the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, which gives funds to colleges for emergency financial aid to students who have faced financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grants will be distributed to eligible students based on demonstrated financial need as determined by the 2019-20 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

See more details and an FAQ.

May 23 "virtual graduation"

Don't forget Saturday's Conferral Ceremony, starting at 2 p.m. Here is the program (with link to printable PDF).
