Campus update for June 12, 2020

June 12, 2020

Dear students,

Our CORE and Career Development staff knew it was unlikely we'd host the annual ProFair this year. But they have come up with something that may be even better.

The inaugural QC Career Fair — to include students from five local colleges and universities — is planned for Sept. 30.

The new virtual fair was sparked in part by a town hall meeting with more than 90 employers in April, organized by Augustana. Employers said they would like to see the local colleges and universities hold a virtual career fair together. (more)

Augustana Strong: Our path to safely opening this fall

President Steve Bahls outlines the latest plans for slowly opening the campus and beginning in-person classes on Aug. 31. With guidance from the state of Illinois, the CDC and the American College Health Association, the Augustana Strong Task Force is working hard to ensure the safety of students, staff and campus visitors.

The Augustana Bookstore is open!

Summer hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Ten customers will be allowed at a time; employees/customers will wear masks and practice social distancing; and hand sanitizer will be available. Enter through the Brunner Theatre Center's northwest door.

The Augustana Bookstore also will be open Saturday, Aug. 15, for early move-in. For more information, call 309-794-7541.

Today's updates:

• Clarification: The DiversiTea with Dr. Tiffany Stoner-Harris June 16 is specifically for underrepresented students. Watch your email for more information.

• If you did not buy a parking permit for the 2020-2021 school year before leaving campus, you will receive a parking packet at your home address soon. Packets were mailed on Wednesday. Instructions are inside the packet, and parking information also is online.
