Campus update Aug. 26, 2021

Aug. 26, 2021

Campus community,

This morning Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced statewide mandates regarding COVID-19 masking and vaccinations.

The governor's announcement aligns well with plans we announced earlier this summer.

As planned at Augustana, masks now are mandated for everyone in Illinois in public buildings.

The governor also issued a vaccine mandate for all higher education employees and students.

Employees and students who are unable or unwilling to receive the vaccine will be required to be tested for COVID-19 at least once a week starting Sept. 5.

Augustana leaders are making plans for testing and will share all details on or before Sept. 3, and President Steve Bahls will host a campus briefing at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 27. (Watch your email or social media for a link to the briefing.)

Important:

→ If you are not vaccinated, now is the time. The campus clinic will be open and offering COVID vaccinations on weekdays, beginning next week.

→ If you have not registered your vaccination status, please register it now

→ If you are feeling ill, test positive, or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive, call Augustana Public Safety, 309-794-7711.
