Janet Stodd is flute instructor at Augustana College (IL) and St. Ambrose University. She plays piccolo in the Quad City Symphony and is flutist for the Symphony's Woodwind Outreach Concerts. She is founder and director of the Augustana Flute Choir and is a member of the National Flute Choir. She is also founder and president of Quad City Flutes Unlimited. Since 2003 she has been principal flutist and orchestra manager for the Quad City Opera Company.
Her teachers include Mary Louise Poor, Walter Haedrich, and Gerald Carey. She received her B.A. from Augustana College, IL, and her M.A. in flute performance from Western Illinois University. Stodd has performed frequently at National Flute Association Conventions with the Professional Flute Choir. She has recorded ten CD's with the National Flute Choir under the direction of Amy Blumenthal. Most recently, she has recorded two CDs entitled "Heart Songs" and "Snow on the Shamrocks" with the Celtic Quartet, Heart Strings.
