The Augustana Concert Chorale is a mixed ensemble that performs a wide variety of literature from all style periods. Students gain a better understanding and appreciation of choral music through study and performance of a varied repertoire. The group primarily sings at on-campus concerts.

Violinist Becky Kia ’87 actually said no the first two times Mannheim Steamroller came calling. But by 1990, she was ready. Kia accepted the invitation to join the ensemble’s backup orchestra for its Christmas concerts in Omaha, and today she is a touring conductor and solo violinist.
Augustana has appointed Eric Newell as director of choral activities beginning fall 2026. Dr. Newell’s duties will include conducting the Augustana Choir, succeeding longtime conductor Dr. Jon Hurty, who is retiring in June 2026.
On Dec. 5, Yefim Bronfman will give a guest-artist talk about his career followed by a Q&A session. Mark Russell Smith, director and conductor of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, will moderate the session.
The Augustana Jazz Combos will perform a holiday concert, directed by Dr. Joel Lindscheid.
Celebrate Christmas at Augustana with performances by the Augustana Symphony Orchestra, Augustana Brass Ensemble, Augustana Choir, Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble, Augustana Concert Chorale, and the Augustana Handbell Choir.
