Senior spots historic Kewanee Boiler at Augustana

Sharp-eyed senior Rashaun DeBord spotted a Kewanee boiler on campus, a sighting noteworthy enough for mention in the local newspaper.

The Kewanee, Ill., Boiler Corporation manufactured and sold thousands of boilers throughout the world for more than 100 years. The company closed in 2002 but the boilers are still extremely common, according to Wikipedia. And people in Kewanee like to keep track of them. (Note: The high school teams are the Boilermakers.)

Kewanee boilers can be seen in the movies "The Blues Brothers" and 1982's "Cannery Row." Augustana's boiler is in Sorensen Hall.
