Augustana again named ‘Best College’ by Money magazine
Money magazine has once again recognized Augustana as one of Illinois’ top 30 national liberal arts colleges in its 2026 “Best Colleges in America” list.
Money analyzed more than 700 four-year colleges based on graduation rates, cost of attendance, financial aid, alumni salaries and more in this ranking. Augustana earned a 4.5 star ranking out of 5 stars on the 2026 list.
Other national liberal arts colleges in Illinois named to the “Best Colleges” list include Wheaton College, Lake Forest College, Knox College and Illinois College. View the complete rankings at Money.com.
Augustana has consistently been recognized for maintaining high academic standards, strong graduation rates and an emphasis on career readiness by Money magazine. This reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to excellence, not just in academics but in the full student experience.

- No. 73 Best Value Schools
- No. 96 Best National Liberal Arts Colleges
Augustana is ranked No. 68 on Niche’s 2026 list of the best liberal arts colleges in America, and No. 3 in Best Liberal Arts Colleges in Illinois. The college also recently received the 2026 Top Colleges for Innovation Award from Insight Into Academia magazine.
