Andrew Nice '12 named hospital COO

Andrew Nice '12 has been named chief operating officer at Medical City McKinney hospital in McKinney, Texas.

A native of Caledonia, Ill., Nice graduated from Augustana with a degree in biology and psychology and was a track athlete. He earned a master’s in health administration from the University of Iowa in 2014.

Previous to his new position, he was associate COO at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center in Tennessee. He began his career at TriStar after graduate school.

“Right now, McKinney is on a great trajectory in regards to patient experience and care,” Nice told D CEO Healthcare magazine. “My plan is to sustain and grow that.”

Nice said he plans to “grow the hospital’s physician relationships with their patients along with patient experience and employee engagement.”

The magazine reported that Ernest Lynch, McKinney CEO, said Nice brings a “range of experience leading expansion projects and ancillary departments.”

Nice earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. He also earned his master’s degree in health administration from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
