Frieze Lecture: 'What Happened Here in 1776?'

Dr. Jane Simonsen, professor of history, chair of American studies, Richard A. Swanson Professor of Social Thought, will present "What Happened Here in 1776?"

This year’s Frieze Lectures will consider the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence through four very different lenses.

The Frieze Lecture Series is a 29-year partnership between the Rock Island Public Library and Augustana College to present four talks in the fall. Lectures are on Tuesdays from 2-3 p.m. at the Rock Island Main Library, 401 19th St., Downtown Community Room.
