Salute to Veterans

The Augustana Veterans Support Group and the Augustana Greek Council invite the public to join a special program honoring veterans. All veterans in attendance will be introduced and recognized.

The keynote address will be given by Pastor Larry Conway, a retired Army chaplain who is the senior pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. His topic will be “The Human Side of Serving in the Military.”

The colors will be presented by the Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 299 Honor Guard, followed by the singing of the national anthem by an ensemble of members of the Augustana Choir. The ceremony will conclude with “Taps,” played by Jill King, an Augustana graduate who played the trumpet in the First U.S. Army Band.

The event is part of Greek Week, a cooperative effort of all Augustana fraternities and sororities.
