Returning to Augustana

Guidance for former students who have been away for a semester or more

Returning after academic suspension (domestic students)

Actions Timeline Deadline for Spring 2024 return

1) Petition for and enroll in transfer credits.

 At least six months before the start of the semester you want to return to Augustana. Aug. 2023

2) Submit transcript showing at least 6 transfer credits completed with GPA ≥ 2.5

(See Office of the Registrar)

 As soon as possible, and at least 14 days before the start of the semester  Jan. 24, 2024
3) Submit Special Student Application As soon as transcript has been received, and at least 14 days before the start of the semester Jan. 24, 2024

4) Contact advisor

(Contact ITS if you can't access Arches within a week of submitting Special Student Application)

 As soon as possible after Arches access is restored Early Dec. 2023

5) Register for courses

 During Open Registration

Jan. 15, 2024 for Jan. 24-26 open registration; 
Jan. 24, 2024 for Feb. 5-8 open registration

6) Attend classes

(See Registration, Enrollment, & Attendance Policy)

 Start of semester
All students must be enrolled and attending by day 2 of the semester

Returning after non-suspension leave (domestic students)

2) Submit Special Student Application As soon as transcript has been received, and at least 14 days before the start of the semester Jan. 24, 2024

3) Contact advisor

(Contact ITS if you can't access Arches within a week of submitting Special Student Application)

 As soon as possible after Arches access is restored Early Dec. 2023

4) Register for courses

1) Contact Juanita Treviño Perez, International Student Advisor. 

 As soon as you decide that you want to return to Augustana and ideally before you enroll in transfer credit. As soon as possible

2) Petition for and enroll in transfer credits.
