Augie Sweethearts: Jeff Trask '09 and Emily Gang '08

Jeff was a guitar-slinging member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity, and Emily was a clarinet player who joined SAI’s female music fraternity on a whim. They met at a cooperative fundraising meeting between the two groups for “Augustana Idol” in 2007.

It was love at first sight for Jeff, but he kept his distance until several months later when he discovered they had a mutual friend. Jeff and their friend worked together to set up a group get-together where they watched cheesy movies. They had their first date soon after (dinner and a concert in Centennial Hall) and have been inseparable ever since. Emily fell in love with Jeff as he serenaded her playing his guitar in the quad. They were married in Ascension Chapel in 2011.
