Augie Sweethearts: Lisa and John Channon, Class of 1986

John and I met our junior year at Augustana. John was in the OZO fraternity and I was in the Phi Rho sorority. John’s fraternity had a Christmas themed date party. He got up the nerve to call me and invite me. I had to decline the invitation, because I had a blind date to the Gab date party.

I got off the phone and was so discouraged because John was one of the guys we scoped out in the cafeteria! I called my friend, Linda to tell her my situation. She said it was a no brainer-cancel the blind date and call John back. That is just what I did! We went to the date party as angels!

We will be married for 30 years on July 9, 2018!
