The Way We Are, and Why

Dr. Anne Boaden '67 will discuss the events of the 1960s and how being at a liberal arts college impacted students at that time. Her talk is part of the event of Homecoming weekend.

Dr. Boaden began at Augustana as an English instructor in 1970. Having graduated from Moline High School, and continuing on to receive degrees with honors from Augustana and the University of Chicago, Dr. Boaden has been a lifelong contributor to the Quad-Cities community as well as the campus community.

Her teaching specializations were English literature, creative writing, Jane Austen, Charlotte Brontë, non-fiction writing and Augustana history.

In 2011, her book "Light and Leaven: Women Who Shaped Augustana's First Century" was released.
