Clarinets for Conservation Benefit Concert

The Augustana Clarinet Studio will present a recital to benefit Clarinets for Conservation (the Daraja Music Initiative).

This organization is concerned with the preservation of the mpingo tree, which provides the wood from which clarinets are made, and promotes sustainability through music education in Tanzania.

Besides a number of solo and small ensemble performances, the recital will feature a combined clarinet choir made up of players from the Augustana Symphonic and Concert Bands, Symphony Orchestra, and Clarinet Choir, as well as members of the Quad City Wind Ensemble, Bettendorf Park Band, and Orchestra Iowa.

A free will donation will be collected, with proceeds going to the Daraja Music Initiative, which promotes the conservation of the mpingo tree and music education in Tanzania.
