Nolan named "Player of the Week" by MWLC
|Freshman Kaylee Nolan was named "Defensive Player of the Week" in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference for her play last week.|
Augustana freshman Kaylee Nolan (Carl Sandburg HS, Orland Park, Ill.) has been named the "Defensive Player of the Week" in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference. She played a key role in helping the Vikings defeat North Central 9-8 on Tuesday, April 16 in Rock Island, Illinois, and in the Vikings 23-1 victory over Aurora on Saturday, April 20, in Aurora, Illinois.
Against North Central, Nolan was an integral part of Augustana's 15-4 draw control advantage as she won 4 draw controls while also causing 4 turnovers while handing the Cardinals their first conference loss. In the game versus Aurora, Nolan won 2 draw controls, caused 3 turnovers and added 2 goals en route to a 23-1 victory.
This season, Nolan has started all 16 games for the Vikings who are currently 13-3 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference. She has scored 21 points on the season consisting of 16 goals and 5 assists. Nolan also leads the Vikings in draw controls this season with 71.
Nolan is the third Augustana Viking to earn "Defensive Player of the Week" in the MWLC, joining freshman attacker Kendall Maduro (Neuqua Valley HS, Naperville, Ill.) and sophomore goalie Sarah Osier (Central HS, Naperville, Ill.)
A chemistry major, Nolan is the daughter of Mike and Jayne Nolan of Orland Park, Illinois.
