Former campaign manager for Newt Gingrich to lecture on entrepreneurship
December 01, 2012
Augustana College’s Business Administration Department, in collaboration with the Center for Entrepreneurial and Legal Studies in Business, welcomes Michael Krull, former campaign manager for Newt Gingrich and current CEO of Resilient Corporation, to give a lecture on Thursday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in Room 304 of the Hanson Hall of Science (726 35th St.).
In his lecture, Krull will discuss entrepreneurship and his experiences in the global marketplace. Resilient Corporation, which he co-founded, operates at the confluence of three fast-growing market segments: big data, analytics and performance scoring. His expertise includes project development and management, strategic planning, risk/all-hazards planning and mitigation, government relations and public communication.
Krull received his bachelor’s in political science and philosophy from Luther College and his master’s in political science (international relations) from Iowa State University. He has been principal and managing director of an integrated public relations, event management and government affairs agency, where he served clients as government affairs and media relations counsel and also managed the firm’s marketing and government contracting initiatives.
Krull has been a senior manager for a boutique international management consulting firm in Washington, D.C. He was appointed to senior positions by then-President George H.W. Bush, and also worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley. In the areas of disaster management, humanitarian crises, and risk planning and mitigation, he worked at headquarters and in the field on interagency civil-military-NGO humanitarian issues and crises in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas at the U.S. Agency for International Development.
Also on Dec. 6, the Augustana College Republicans will host a “Grand Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony” to celebrate a new beginning for the student-run, campus-based group. The event will take place at 2 p.m. in the Great Hall of Carlsson Evald Hall (3601 7th Ave.). Krull will be the guest of honor.
