Volleyball win streak snapped at eight

Freshman Martha Murray had nine kills in Augustana's 3-0 loss at Elmhurst on Wednesday, September 26 that snapped the Vikings' eight-game winning streak.

ELMHURST, Illinois - After opening the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin volleyball season with back-to-back victories over North Park and Illinois Wesleyan, Augustana fell for the first time in league play by a score of 3-0 at Elmhurst on Wednesday, September 26. The Vikings dropped the match by scored of 25-17; 25-13; 25-15 and are now 12-3 overall and 2-1 in the CCIW.

Freshman Martha Murray (Evanston HS, Evanston, Ill.) led the Augustana attack with nine kills and she also had one dig. Sophomore Emily Leazer (St. Viator HS, Mt. Prospect, Ill.) chipped in with six kills and four digs and senior Sarah Williams (Rockford Lutheran HS, Loves Park, Ill.) had five kills.

Freshman Jordan Hampel (Hilliard-Davidson HS, Hilliard, Ohio) had a team high in both assists (20) and digs (eight). Freshman Kylie Siebert (Kaneland HS, Sugar Grove, Ill.) and junior Katrina Colclasure (Tri-Valley HS, Bloomington, Ill.) each had seven digs in the match.

Augustana will be back in action on Saturday, September 29 at the Concordia-Chicago Triangular.
