2011-12 Season - Vikings drop dual to Norse

Emma Regnier finished second in three different events in Augustana's loss at Luther on Saturday, January 14 in Decorah, Iowa.

DECORAH, Iowa - Augustana had no answer for the powerful Luther Norse and as a result dropped a 186-54 decision in women's swimming on Saturday, January 14 in Decorah, Iowa. The Vikings were unable to win a single event as they fell to 2-2 on the season.

Junior Emma Regnier (Grayslake North HS, Lake Villa, Ill.) turned in the strongest performance for head coach Scott Johannsen's Augustana team. Regnier took second in the 400 individual medley (5:07.57), the 100 butterfly (1:04.75) and the 500 freestyle (5:41.59).

Junior Emily Timmons (West Aurora HS, North Aurora, Ill.) was second in the 1000 freestyle in 11:47.02 and third in both the 400 individual medley (5:12.06) and the 100 breaststroke (1:18.56).

Sophomore Helen Myers (Pecatonica HS, Rock City, Ill.) took third in the one meter diving (145.20) and the three meter diving (197.70). Junior Molly Clennon (Benet Academy, Naperville, Ill.) finished third in the 100 freestyle in :57.82 and fourth in the 200 freestyle in 2:07.32. Junior Alexandra Piper (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) was third in the 50 freestyle in :26.80. Freshman Laura Pemberton (Fremont HS, Fremont, Neb.) finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.13) and freshman Beth Cole (Muscatine HS, Muscatine, Iowa) took fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:13.17).

Augustana is now 2-2 in dual meets and will compete in the Grinnell Invitational on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21 in Grinnell, Iowa
