2011-12 Season - Viking women fall at Loras

Junior Emma Regnier won the 200-yard individual medley and finished second in the 100 butterfly Friday, but the Vikings dropped a dual meet at Loras, 131-100.

DUBUQUE, Iowa - Despite the fact that junior Molly Clennon (Benet Academy, Naperville, Ill.) and sophomore Helen Myers (Pecatonica HS, Rock City, Ill.) picked up double victories, Augustana dropped a 131-100 decision to Loras in a non-conference dual meet on Friday, December 10 in Dubuque, Iowa. The Vikings won a total of five events in the meet as their record fell to 1-1 on the season.

 Clennon won the 200 freestyle in 2:06.45 and the 500 freestyle in 5:41.16. She also swam a leg on the second place 200 freestyle relay team, joining junior Emma Regnier (Grayslake North HS, Lake Villa, Ill.), junior Alexandra Piper (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) and sophomore Hillary Ferguson (Waubonsie Valley HS, Naperville, Ill.) in clocking a time of 1:46.75.

 Myers won the one meter diving event with a score of 203.75 and took the three meter with a score of 155.0.Regnier provided Augustana with its other victory when she claimed the 200 individual medley in 2:21.65. She was second in the 100 butterfly as well, stopping the watches at 1:04.03.

 Ferguson took second in the 50 freestyle (:26.08) and the 100 freestyle (:58.68). Piper placed fourth in the 50 freestyle (:27.16) and fifth in the 100 freestyle (1:02.03).

 Junior Emily Timmons (West Aurora HS, North Aurora, Ill.) took second in the 200 individual medley in 2:25.77 and second in the 500 freestyle in 5:48.64. She also finished fifth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.16.

 The 200 medley relay of junior Hollyann Kabbe (Fenton HS, Bensenville, Ill.), freshman Laura Pemberton (Fremont HS, Fremont, Neb.), sophomore Danna Jensen (Dundee Crown HS, Algonquin, Ill.) and junior Mary Naughton (Fremont HS, Fremont, Neb.) placed second in 2:05.42.

 Kabbe placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:12.31) and Pemberton was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.23) and fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:11.84). Naughton was third in the 100 freestyle (1:00.82).

 Freshman Mackenzie Corrie (Midland HS, Charleston, Ill.) took fourth in the 100 freestyle in 13:14.63. Sophomore Elizabeth O'Hara (Westosha Central HS, Salem, Wis.) was fourth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:19.81 and fifth in the 200 individual medley in 2:33.74. Freshman Beth Cole (Muscatine HS, Muscatine, Iowa) took fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:13.77) and freshman Alexis Thompson (Crystal Lake South HS, Lake-in-the-Hills, Ill.) was fifth in both the 100 butterfly (1:19.95) and the 1000 freestyle (13:47.96).

 Augustana will not be off until resuming action after Christmas with a home dual meet against Coe on Friday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the Carver Pool.
