2010 Season - Vikings fall to Wheaton in CCIW Tournament

Senior Courtney Jungnickel had 13 kills and 12 digs in Augustana's 3-0 loss to Wheaton in the first round of the CCIW tournament on Tuesday night in the Carver Center. She ends her career as the school record holder in service aces (215) and is second in kills (1,442) and digs (1,597).

Wheaton defeated Augustana 3-0 in the first round of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin volleyball tournament on Tuesday, November 2 in the Carver Center. The loss ends the Vikings’ season at 12-20 while Wheaton advances to the semi-final round with a 16-18 mark.

Senior Courtney Jungnickel (Naperville Central HS, Naperville, Ill.) led Augustana in kills with 13 in her final match in a Viking uniform. She finished her career as the school record holder in service aces with 215 and she ends up second in career kills with 1,442 and career digs with 1,597. She had 12 digs on Tuesday night to go along with her 13 kills.

Junior Brianna Skeens (Vernon Hills HS, Libertyville, Ill.) had seven kills, three digs and three total blocks. Freshman Morgan Stittleburg (Black River Falls HS, Black River Falls, Wis.) had six kills with three digs and three setting assists. Freshman Kristen Yerkes (Marist HS, Palos Heights, Ill.) put down five kills with 18 digs, two service aces and one solo block.

Sophomore Kelsey Mikula (Coal City HS, Coal City, Ill.) had 17 setting assits with 13 digs while freshman Katrina Colclasure (Tri-Valley HS, Bloomington, Ill.) recorded 14 setting assists with nine digs. Sophomore Shannon Slick (Rockton Hononegah HS, Roscoe, Ill.) had a team high 19 digs.
